What Should Be Noted When Culturing Cells in a Cell Factory

Thu Nov 27 10:18:47 CST 2025

During the cell culture process, the cell factory plays a critical role as an essential consumable. However, to ensure successful cell cultivation, attention should be paid to the following key points:

1. Strict aseptic operations:

Before performing any procedure, all steps must strictly follow aseptic guidelines to prevent contamination. This includes proper handwashing, wearing sterile gloves, disinfecting the workbench, and ensuring the sterility of the operating environment.

2. Pre-warm the cell factory and culture medium:

To accelerate cell attachment and improve recovery rates, it is recommended to pre-warm both the cell factory and the culture medium to the incubation temperature. This minimizes the impact of temperature fluctuations and supports normal cell growth.

3. Operate slowly to avoid bubble formation:

During handling, operations should be carried out slowly and steadily to avoid vigorous shaking, which may generate bubbles. Bubbles can lead to uneven distribution of culture media, thereby affecting the cellular microenvironment.

4. Avoid spraying alcohol or disinfectants on the vented caps:

Alcohol or disinfectants may wet the hydrophobic membrane of the vented caps, impairing air permeability, affecting gas exchange, or preventing proper pressure balancing during operation. Handle carefully to avoid spraying disinfectants onto the vent caps.

Cell factory provide a closed and controlled cultivation environment that significantly reduces the risk of contamination. However, successful cell culture still relies on strict adherence to aseptic techniques and careful attention to operational details. Only by ensuring proper execution at every step can reliable experimental results be obtained, thereby supporting scientific research effectively.

The FAI climbed 5.9 percent year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2018, quickening from the 5.7-percent growth in Jan-Oct, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Friday in an online statement.

The key indicator of investment, dubbed a major growth driver, hit the bottom in August and has since started to rebound steadily.

In the face of emerging economic challenges home and abroad, China has stepped up efforts to stabilize investment, in particular rolling out measures to motivate private investors and channel funds into infrastructure.

Friday's data showed private investment, accounting for more than 60 percent of the total FAI, expanded by a brisk 8.7 percent.

NBS spokesperson Mao Shengyong said funds into weak economic links registered rapid increases as investment in environmental protection and agriculture jumped 42 percent and 12.5 percent respectively, much faster than the average.

In breakdown, investment in high-tech and equipment manufacturing remained vigorous with 16.1-percent and 11.6-percent increases respectively in the first 11 months. Infrastructure investment gained 3.7 percent, staying flat. Investment in property development rose 9.7 percent, also unchanged.
